The program

The Centre Pompidou Francilien – fabrique de l’art

Starting in autumn 2026, a brand-new space for experiencing art and culture will open in Île-de-France. Located in Massy, Essonne, the Centre Pompidou Francilien – fabrique de l’art is conceived as a hybrid project:

  • A professional site housing the reserves of the Musée National d’Art Moderne and the Musée National Picasso-Paris, and serving as a hub for research and scientific expertise in conservation and restoration;
  • A cultural venue with a unique multidisciplinary program, offering the public new access to modern and contemporary art.

Designed by PCA-Stream, this innovative building is envisioned as a vibrant hub for residents of the Paris region, located just 30 minutes from Paris via Line 18 of the Grand Paris Express. Like the Centre Pompidou in Beaubourg, with its iconic Piazza and external escalator, the Centre Pompidou Francilien engages with its surroundings and nature. Opening onto the Parc de la Blanchette and its lake, the building features expansive wooden walkways, a landscaped stairway, and a panoramic terrace.
