Late opening on Wednesdays until 9:00 p.m.
11 quai de Conti
75 006 Paris

Founded in 864, the Monnaie de Paris has minted coins for the French state for over a millennium, evolving alongside the lives of the French people. Today, it continues to uphold this remarkable heritage with its mission: to share the coins of the past, create the coins of today, and invent the coins of tomorrow.
On its historic site in the heart of Paris, behind the doors of an 18th-century palace, it houses the last operating factory within the capital. It supports fine craftsmanship through the creation of exceptional items: medals, coins, official decorations, and art objects in both precious and common metals. Since 2017, the Monnaie de Paris has opened its doors widely to the public with a renewed museum offering views into its production workshops and active art foundry, along with a cultural program that reflects its identity and industrial activity. This initiative highlights its historical heritage, artisanal expertise, and métiers d’art.
Nestled in central Paris since 1775, it remains the capital's last active factory. Artistic craftsmanship and excellence are celebrated through the production of coins, medals, official decorations, and art objects. The Paris site on quai de Conti and its museum host exhibitions, creative workshops, and events, offering a cultural program that weaves together historical heritage, craftsmanship, and artistic trades.
The Monnaie de Paris has also been present in Pessac (Gironde) since 1973, where it produces circulation coins for France and international markets, as well as collectible coins, thanks to its globally recognized creativity, innovation, and industrial expertise.
