To Open Eyes

“To Open Eyes” is an undirected exhibition that proposes a broad and non-exhaustive panorama of the major movements and disruptions that marked the history of art in the 20^th and 21^st centuries, right up until recent works reflecting certain contemporary issues. The works offer insights into our relationship with history and spirituality, the role of the body in art and society, and how utopian ideas shape our imaginations. 
Neither chronological nor narrative, the exhibition is based around plastic, formal and thematic similitudes and is composed of six polyphonic and transdisciplinary sections (Icons / Signs, Bodies / Colours, Gestures / Imprints, Spiritualities / Syncretisms, Fictions / Projections, Spaces / Revelations). It reveals connections between works made in different media, periods and contexts and reflects the richness and diversity of the Musée National d’Art Moderne’s collections.
