"Victor Kossakovski epitomises that 1960s generation carrying forth the flame of Saint Petersburg's rich tradition in the field of documentary films. Well, maybe saying he embodies that generation single-handedly is more accurate: learning, producing and broadcasting has grown so tough in post-communist Russia that only a handful of talents ever get off the ground." (Jean Perret, extr. du catalogue du festival Visions du réel, Nyon, 2001)
