The story takes place in an abandoned village surrounded by an old wall. The only inhabitant, a man of 40, has no name. By day he works like an animal in the ruins; by night he sleeps like a primitive in a cave. This is how we could describe this extraordinary film, where Wang Bing follows a hermit, and where no words are ever heard touching on the details of his fate. In 2013 Wang Bing returned to see this man, with his photograph exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in mind. He brought back a series of 16 photographs, which can be seen in Forum -1, until 26 May. Free admission.
