In the early 1970s, Mr Hekmati, a young teacher, moves into a poor district in the south of Teheran, where he has taken a job in a public school. "I am very proud that the World Cinema Project has restored this really beautiful film: the first by the film director Bahram Beyza’i. the tone of the film evokes what I love most about Italian neorealism, and the story has all the beauty of an ancient fable." Martin Scorsese.
