This chair stands out with its sober surface of black lacquered wood and the geometry of its lines.
Nathalie Du Pasquier, a self-taught artist, joined Memphis on its creation in 1981. As well as objects like this chair, she made many “surface decorations” for the textiles and furniture in the group's different collections. Nathalie stands out with its curved lines and differentiated legs, as well as the circle cut-outs on the back. It lets the light pass through and outline a geometrical motif creating an interplay between the full and the empty.
